Ray Gill named the Les Passees Community Leader of the Year 2015

On Friday, December 4th, President of Gill Properties, Ray Gill, was honored as the recipient of the Les Passees Community Leader of the Year for 2015.  This year, Gill volunteered a 56,000 square foot space in Stage Center at 6600 Stage Road for Les Passees to hold their annual Stock Exchange for over 8 weeks.  Les Passees is an incredible organization that does so much for children in our community which makes this even more special to Ray and all of Gill Properties.  Gill previously won this award in 1996.

Les Passees: A Tradition for Children and Families in Memphis

Welcome to the Les Passees website. Here you can learn about our history, mission and fundraising projects. The thread that weaves these together is our service to the children and families of our community.

Currently, Les Passees raises funds to support Kids on the Block and the Harwood Center. Kids on the Block is a troupe of life-sized puppets that educate children about bullying, abuse, drugs and children with disabilities. Over 25,000 school children see these shows every year. The Harwood Center offers classes for pre-school children with developmental delays such as autism and Down’s Syndrome. The Harwood Center has classrooms in six locations throughout Shelby County.

Stock Exchange, the Les Passees main fundraiser, is a consignment shop open for 6 – 7 weeks in the fall, staffed by Les Passees member volunteers. The consignors receive a percentage of the sales price, and Les Passes receives the remaining percentage. The popularity of Stock Exchange is that is a win-win for everyone involved. Consignors/Sellers can clean out their attic and garage and have access to a wide audience of buyers. Buyers can find everything from tupperware to furs under one roof at reasonable prices. Les Passees raises money to help fund their projects, and has a great deal of fun doing so.

Les Passees has been loving Memphis for 105 years. As one of the oldest women’s organizations in our community, and we are proud of our long history of service and dedication to the families and children of our community. We are so grateful to the individuals and groups who support our efforts. Thank you for sharing our mission.
