Barry Maynard
Vice president of brokerage, Gill Properties
As a commercial real estate broker, Barry Maynard is his clients’ biggest champion. He beats the drum loudly to get them noticed.
And, as VP of brokerage for Gill Properties, Maynard handles commercial real estate brokerage and development across 18 states, alongside his business partner, Frank Dyer.
And, while he is dogged in his pursuit of the best real estate deal, Maynard is also a dedicated member of his church and an avid hunter.
Maynard is currently serving as president of the Memphis Leadership Foundation, which has worked to train grassroots leaders, help nonprofits, and nurture ministry programs.
What’s helping you get through COVID? Tennis, a sport I enjoy and have rarely played since high school. And quality time with my family. (Yes, we did one of those “porch-rait” photo shoots too!)
What’s the first thing you are going to do when we get past COVID? Get together with friends in a normal setting and physically attend Sunday worship services.
Biggest professional achievement? My involvement in nearly $700 million dollars of real estate in more than a dozen states
Professional goal yet to achieve? I have a passion for all things outdoors. Although I am constantly involved in land transactions, I would love for recreational and farming properties to be a larger part of my day-to-day business. My wife constantly says I should host a televised outdoors show. Maybe that’s her goal for me!
Best advice you have ever received? “Give 100% in everything you do.” “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” “Be humble.” And, “Don’t let greed get in front of your morals.”
