HERNANDO, Miss. — Big changes are happening in Hernando, as construction continues at two mixed-use developments in the area.

One is located at the corner of Getwell and I-269, and the other is off McIngvale Road.

Delta Landing has residential spaces and commercial spaces for businesses, and as the marketing developer explains, this is only the beginning of what’s to come for this mixed-use development.

Progress is being made in Hernando, amid ongoing construction at two new mixed-use developments, with one being Delta Landing.

“Right now we have over 125 tenants that have rented or living here in our apartments and then over 100 families live in the back,” said Marion McBride, Marketing Director, Skylake Construction and Delta Landing. “We’ll have Two Crazy Fellas before the end of the year. We have 19 Delta Nutrition which opens tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Refined Roots, which is a hair salon.”

McBride said Hernando residents can also expect the addition of a VSL Nail Salon and a YMCA next year.

“It will have a Lazy River, a natatorium, classes for students, seniors, and it should break ground in the end of October, beginning of November,” said McBride.

The progress comes a little more than a year after WREG spoke with Hernando Mayor Chip Johnson about plans for both Delta Landing and the Collection at Getwell Farms, at Getwell and I-269.

Businesses have not yet opened at the Collection at Getwell Farms; however, construction is underway for a Buffalo Wild Wings GO, Dunkin Donuts and other businesses at that location.

And as plans move forward with both mixed-use developments, Delta Landing’s marketing director is hopeful that the project will bring economic benefits and convenience to Hernando.

“We really want this to be a place that’s not only for the residents who live here, but that the greater Hernando can appreciate and can find the amenities and things that they want right here close to home,” said McBride.

Although residential and commercial spaces are already in use at Delta Landing, there’s room for many more businesses.
