Laundromat planned for university area
Leaders at Artisent Floors are preparing to introduce a retro-style laundromat at 3852 Park Ave., a 4,900-square-foot commercial strip.
Alex Griffith and Jason Martin, who own and operate Artisent Floors, bought the Park Avenue property for $400,000.

They plan to develop the site into a modern laundromat named Linetta’s Laundry — the duo’s first venture into laundromats.
“It’s kind of your classic ‘60s, ‘70s, throwback-era theme,” Griffith said. “Our goal is we want a nice, clean, welcoming space for people who are coming in, and on top of your traditional walk-in business, we are going to be offering a washing, folding, pickup and delivery service.”
Griffith said the delivery service will be comparable to Uber’s delivery services. Customers can place their laundry outside their homes, a driver will pick it up, employees will clean the clothes, and a driver will drop it back off at the customer’s home.
He expects to employ about five people.
“It’s exciting,” Griffith said. “I feel like we’re going to be able to hit a lot of different needs and a lot of different demographics than just a traditional one-stop shop laundromat.”
The Word Church, Rose’s Nails and Dauntless Tactical Training Center operate in the building, but Griffith said the site will only include the laundromat.
Barry Maynard, Frank Dyer and Emily Vanasek of Gill Properties brokered the sale. Gill Properties also coordinated the relocation of tenants as part of the transition.
“The building is being fully updated to feature state-of-the-art equipment, comfortable interiors, and a clean, inviting atmosphere that reflects the pair’s focus on quality and customer experience,” Vanasek said.
Griffith said they are in the planning phase, but they will soon empty the building and remodel it for Linetta’s Laundry. He expects to open the laundromat by the end of March 2026.
He aims to make Linetta’s Laundry a regional brand with Memphis as its first city.
