Top Retail Leases Recognized for Memphis

Prominent retail leases signed by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis, O'Reilly's Auto Parts and Bluff City Pickleball negotiated by top dealmakers from Rick Baer Realty and Gill Properties are among the third-quarter retail leases recognized by CoStar.

As big-ticket items involving sizable investments, commercial property transactions often have a wider impact within the community. CoStar will recognize the largest leases completed each quarter and the dealmakers who made them happen in their respective markets.

Here are the Memphis retail leases selected as the third-quarter 2023 winners of the CoStar Power Broker Quarterly Deal Awards:

Deal Commentary: Habitat for Humanity signed a lease to occupy over 58,000 square feet at the Poplar Market Plaza. the organization began in 1976, founded by Millard and Linda Fuller who developed the concept of “partnership housing.” The concept centered on those in need of adequate shelter working side by side with volunteers to build decent, affordable houses. The 208,000-square-foot Poplar Market Plaza is owned by Alan & Susan Kosten.

Brokers Involved: Jennifer Stewart and Patricia Bullock of Gill Properties represented the landlord.
Deal Commentary: O'Reilly Auto Parts signed a five-year term to occupy 33,750 square feet at the Stage Centre Shopping Center. O'Reilly's started as a single store and has turned into a leading retailer in the automotive aftermarket industry with over 6,000 locations and growing. The 152,000-square-foot retail center is anchored by ATC Fitness and Dollar General and is owned by Ray Gill with Gill Properties.
