Barry Maynard

Barry’s diverse background approaches the discipline of commercial real estate brokerage from all angles. In over a 19 year span, he has represented property owners in the sale of their property, leased space in shopping centers, sold investment grade income properties, been involved from the ground up with commercial retail developments, and sold or leased commercial land (retail, office, industrial, c-store, ground leases, recreational, and agricultural), in excess of over four hundred and fifty million dollars.

He joined Gill Properties as Vice President of Brokerage in 2019. His past experience includes 7 years at Loeb Properties and twelve years with Trezevant Realty Corporation, after earning his BBA with a Double Major in Real Estate and Managerial Finance with a minor in Banking & Finance at the University of Mississippi. Barry’s focus in recent years has been tenant representation spanning retail, hotels, office, c-stores and industrial deals, as well as landlord selling & leasing, primarily in the retail segment across several states. He has assisted in development and site evaluations, as well as tenant representation across retail, office, and industrial sectors. Additionally, Barry enjoys brokering sales for farmland, as well as hunting and recreational properties.

Barry is married to Eleanore Kelly Maynard, a residential broker with Hobson Realtors. They have two sons, Edward (3) and Walker (1) and a beloved West Highland Terrier, Duke. The Maynards are members of Independent Presbyterian Church.

Barry serves as the President/Chairman of the Board for the Memphis Leadership Foundation (WWW.MLFONLINE.ORG). Memphis Leadership started ministries such as Streets Ministries, SOS, Memphis Athletic Ministries, Christ Community Health Services and currently MLP oversees and controls over 20 non-profit ministries in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Leadership handles payroll and back office for over 600 local employees. The Memphis Leadership Foundation seeks to transform lives and communities in Memphis focusing on three core areas: 1.) Incubating ministries and programs including Streets Ministries, SOS, MAM and Christ Community Health Services. 2.) Training and empowering urban, grassroots leaders. 3.) Providing back office services to our nonprofit partners.

Barry enjoys mentoring, tutoring, and coaching at Memphis Athletic Ministries. Barry is an avid and passionate outdoorsman, and a long-time member of NWTF, Delta Waterfowl, and Ducks Unlimited.
